Since 1913, when Days Transfer was founded by John Days as a regional trucking company, we have progressed into a well balanced and diversified Corporation with 3 major divisions and 2 smaller divisions. In 1961, we became Days Moving and Storage affiliated with Allied Van Lines, storing and then moving household goods nationwide. We also started Days Machinery Movers, a local rigging and heavy haul division that exists today under the same name.
In the mid-60's Days Distribution Services was expanded from just Public Warehousing & local delivery to full distribution and logistic services. Since 1990, Distribution has grown dramatically, building 6 new buildings and occupying approximately 450,000 square foot of warehouse space, most of which is food grade quality.
In 1988, Days dropped their affiliation with Allied Van Lines and concentrated on our Machinery Moving and Distribution divisions and throwing our hat into the domestic and overseas packaging arena by starting Days Packaging Services, which today is still active as a department of the Machinery Division. We also changed our name to Days Corporation.
In 1993, Days decided to become further diversified by getting into manufacturing, founding our 3rd major division, Equalizer Systems, which provides lift and level systems for the motorhome, horse trailer, race car trailer and straight truck industries. Several patented products developed by Equalizer have allowed this division to become the largest within the Days family, doubling the size of the Corporation in the last two years. By listening to our customers and re-acting to their wishes, we became pro-active in the development of a slide out system, the first of which were put into the market in 2003, to complement our lift and level capabilities. An airbag leveling system was also developed and patented for select customers.
Toward the end of 2002, an opportunity presented itself for Days to enter the Industrial Electrical market. At that time. Days Electrical was established as a department of the Machinery Division, enabling machinery to truly offer "Turn Key" services with rigging, heavy haul, packaging and electrical work, all with one contractor, Days Machinery Movers. For large or small jobs, this is an attractive package and has helped us secure projects with some of the largest automotive manufacturers in the country along with enhancing our attractiveness with existing customers.
The future? Additional, controlled growth, concentrating on our existing customer base in all divisions, keeping an eye open to expanding that base with selected "partnerships" established with new customer. |
